Terminex and Orkin offer Termite Warranties for $250 and sometimes $300 PER YEAR !!!  Is this a good deal if you can get a full Termidor treatment for $750 including a 10 year warranty?  Too many people I am running into in Red Oak and Shenandoah have these ridiculous contracts in place.

Termite Swarmers (winged termites)
Please be advised, this is the time of year we will start seeing swarmers.  Swarmers are termites with wings sent out to find new area to start a fresh colony.  95 % of them die without finding moisture and food source (wood).  The other 5% create a new colony and you then have a colony of termites.  Flying ants are also prevalant now this time of year and please take a look at the diagram on our termite page to distinguish the difference.  I advise you to call us for a termite inspection if you see a concern with flying insects, whether it be termites or ants.  You will also notice traces of these insects by their wings that they will shed.  These are typically found in window sills, including as far up as your attic.  Window sills are the most common place I have found them, I believe it is easier to see them there.

Front page Red Oak Express Picture
I know Roger will be thrilled to find out he made the front page of the Red Oak Express, I'm joking as I know how he likes to have his picture taken.  Roger and I worked the booth all day and if you came by to visit you maybe didn't have an opportunity to talk to us as we were busy with visitors all day, many passed by that we did not have a chance to talk to.  I did learn a lesson at the show, and that lesson is to get a sign as big as my wife's or not share a booth, Lol.  Click on the link of my home page here to see the pictures from the show.  Thank you to KCSI for their interview and letting me ramble on about my services.

Now is the time to check trees for bagworms
This is one of the best times to check our trees for bagworms, both leaf trees and needle trees.  Take a look around when you are out enjoying the newfound warmness coming our way.  Inspect your trees for hanging bags.  This will be a good time to determine weather you can pick the bags off manually or if it is a larger problem and you need to schedule an application.  This problem will be best treated with applications in the month of June.  Call today for a free consultation and quote for your needs.  623-4016

One day spring will be here!
I am patiently waiting for spring too.  Weatherman says hope is on the horizon for next week.  For those of you signed up for my "advanced lawn care", just know that this little bit of winter hanging on is why we have not started our step 1's like some competition,  there is a huge benefit to precise timing on crabgrass control and it has to do with the sooner you put product on, the sooner it quits working, thus crabgrass break thru.  If conditions aren't right, why put down product yet, so it will last longer into the season.  We are getting the last of our chemicals shipped in this week and will be fully functional after the Farm & Home show on Saturday.

Opening Doors
We are officially open now and the phone is ringing.  After getting the office # in place we were able to order marketing materials and those orders are coming in now.  Everything form pens, magnets, flyers, banners, posters, signs, etc....  You will soon come to know our name much better as we are designing our advertising campaign right now.  We are gearing up for the Farm & Home show on the 14th.  Please call us with any questions, we are busy getting out prepay quotes.  By the way there is a 7% prepay discount available.
