Swarmers are the scouts for starting new colonies, so therefore, take a look on our termite page to find out more of the characteristics of swarmer termites vs. flying ants.  Most swarmer termites die, actually around 95% of them die and wither, however.  The 5 % that survive find moisture and food and then begin new colonies.  Swarmers will shed their wings and I find the sheds in window sills many times.
